Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in North Portland is a regional leader in serious clinical illness or injury, providing around-the-clock expertise in trauma, heart care, burns, stroke, brain surgery, and more. The Emanuel Progressive Cardiac Care Unit (PCCU) is a 22-bed cardiac telemetry/stepdown unit serving adult and geriatric cardiovascular patients. Patients in this unit require acute care nursing observation, interventions, assessments, and treatments based on their needs. Responsibilities: Responsible for patient care within an assigned department and participating as a member of the healthcare team under the direction of the clinical manager. The RN assesses, analyzes, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care following established standards, including patient assessment and transfer procedures. Qualifications: Education:
As required by licensure. BSN or degree in progress is strongly preferred. Some assignments may require a BSN; experienced RNs without a BSN may be hired with approval from the site CNO. Experience: At least one year of registered nursing experience or completion of the Legacy Health RN Residency program or an equivalent nursing program. Additional experience requirements may vary by department. Acute care experience is required; step-down cardiac or telemetry experience is preferred. Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, patients, families, physicians, and the community. Proficiency in keyboard and electronic systems relevant to the role.
