Job Description
Join our team as a VMware and Server Systems Administrator for a Randstad client based in Washington, DC. This role involves configuring and implementing VMware for Windows and Linux images, integrating network and SAN storage in a co-location environment (Equinix), and working closely with Client DT SMEs to gather deployment requirements. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical documentation skills, with an emphasis on maintaining a comprehensive runbook.
Responsibilities:
Configure and implement VMware for Windows and Linux images, ensuring seamless integration with network and SAN storage in the Equinix co-location environment. Deploy and configure physical servers in the Equinix location, collaborating with Client DT SMEs to gather deployment requirements. Demonstrate expertise in vSphere and vMotion with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on VMware virtualization experience. Utilize advanced technical skills in Active Directory navigation, queries, domain object joining, DNS, and Group Policy modifications, backed by 5+ years of technical experience. Deploy Windows Server and RHEL Linux images as VMware guests, with a minimum of 3 years of experience. Preferred experience includes 2+ years of functional knowledge with ServiceNow for change management, incident management, and CMDB usage. Maintain a detailed runbook with well-documented configuration details for all project activities. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and contribute to the overall success of IT infrastructure projects.
