Base pay range $250,000.00/yr - $300,000.00/yr Direct message the job poster from Pumex Computing, LLC Driving AI-Enhanced Recruiting Solutions Senior Linux Engineer Low Latency Trading Systems We are seeking an experienced Linux Systems Engineer to support and enhance critical infrastructure for a high-performance trading platform. This role is part of a technical team embedded within a fast-paced, client-facing environment. The ideal candidate will bring a high level of expertise in Linux engineering, particularly within low-latency trading systems , and possess strong interpersonal communication skills suited to a collaborative and time-sensitive business setting. Key Responsibilities Engineer and support global infrastructure for a real-time order management platform used in latency-sensitive trading environments. Maintain and optimize co-location systems and a mix of on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure using RHEL 8/9. Lead infrastructure enhancements, including platform upgrades, new site deployments, and migrations. Develop automation for system provisioning, monitoring, and configuration using modern tools and scripting languages. Troubleshoot production issues efficiently and collaboratively, minimizing downtime. Analyze system performance, conduct root cause analysis, and implement preventative measures. Collaborate with hardware and software vendors to deliver robust, scalable solutions. Required Qualifications 10+ years of hands-on Linux/Unix systems engineering experience in latency-sensitive or high-throughput environments. Strong proficiency in Linux tuning for performance optimization, including experience with network interface cards such as Exanic, Solarflare, or Mellanox. Proven experience deploying and maintaining co-located systems from design to production. Deep understanding of infrastructure needs for electronic trading environments or real-time systems. Hands-on expertise in automation/orchestration tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Salt, or Terraform. Strong scripting skills in Bash , Python , or equivalent languages used for infrastructure tooling. Experience working with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) or private cloud (OpenStack, VMware). Familiarity with infrastructure monitoring tools like Datadog, Prometheus, or Grafana. Experience with systems that process market data or third-party feed handlers is a plus. Working knowledge of identity and access tools such as Active Directory and Kerberos . Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a high-pressure environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to interact professionally across technical and business teams.
