Job Description Job Title: RN - Labor & Delivery/Postpartum Profession: RN Specialty: Labor & Delivery/Postpartum Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 18 months of Labor & Delivery/Postpartum experience License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, EFM, NRP, AWHONN
Must-Have: - Experience with all aspects of Labor & Delivery/Postpartum patient care - Experience circulating C-sections - Experience with newborn care, including heel sticks, 24-hour testing, NAS scoring, and lactation support - Experience with postpartum care - Newborn resuscitation (NRP) skills - Skills to work Labor & Delivery/Postpartum Support within the department
Description: RN position in Labor & Delivery/Postpartum. Facility has 33 beds with no trauma designation and is not a teaching hospital. Unit includes 2 triage rooms, 4 Labor, Delivery Rooms, 9 Mother Baby rooms, and a C-section suite. Patient types and common diagnoses include Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum, and GYN surgical procedures. Patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines. Required roles include OB surgical tech one per shift, receptionist, patient registration, visitor management, and unit secretary duties. Charge nurse and case manager are available 24/7, along with a hospitalist or OB physician and pediatrician. Currently, there are no lactation consultants hired as this facility is new. Technology includes Epic for EMR, Alaris for IV pumps, Omnicell for medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors. Nurses will need to float to various facilities within the designated region based on patient care needs. Floating mid-shift will involve being paid for travel time between facilities while remaining on the clock. Floating will occur within the scope of practice.
