Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg) Location:
New York, NY 10016 Contract Type:
Contract Shift:
7:00 PM - 7:30 AM | 3 Days/Week (34.5 Hours/Week) Schedule:
Rotating weekends and holidays required Pay Rate:
$55 - $59 per hour Responsibilities: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team Deliver direct bedside nursing care to pre- and post-operative patients Administer medications, monitor IVs, and manage wound care Operate and adjust specialized medical equipment, recording accurate measurements Monitor and record patient vitals, recognizing and responding to adverse reactions Assist in discharge planning and provide education to patients and families Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in patient charts and records Adhere to best nursing practices, protocols, and hospital policies Required Skills & Experience:
For Acute Facilities: Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience in a large acute care hospital (within the past year) For Post-Acute Facilities:
Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience in a post-acute or acute care setting (within the past year) Clinical Proficiencies:
Physical assessments Medication administration Wound care & infection control IV therapy Post-operative care Telemetry monitoring Patient education Preferred Experience:
EPIC EMR proficiency Education & Certification Requirements:
Required: Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution Active New York State RN license with primary source verification AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Completion of Med/Surg Skills Checklist and Specialty Exam Preferred:
AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (required for Queens-based roles)
