Longbridge Financial is a leading provider of home equity solutions for seniors, dedicated to helping older homeowners maximize their home equity. They are seeking a Contract Database Administrator to support the administration, monitoring, and optimization of their SQL Server and Azure-based database systems, ensuring performance, security, and availability of data environments. Responsibilities: Administer, monitor, and maintain SQL Server databases across on-prem and Azure environments. Implement and manage Azure SQL Database, Azure Managed Instances, and SQL Server on virtual machines. Perform regular database maintenance, backups, and restore operations. Monitor performance and tune SQL queries, indexes, and database configurations. Set up and manage high availability and disaster recovery (HA/DR) solutions (e.g., Always On, failover groups). Collaborate with data engineers and developers to support database design, deployment, and optimization. Ensure database security and compliance with corporate and regulatory policies. Automate routine database administration tasks using PowerShell or T-SQL scripts. Support deployments and troubleshoot production issues in coordination with the DW team. Document procedures, standards, and configuration changes for audit and team alignment. Qualifications: Required: 5+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA in enterprise environments. Strong expertise in SQL Server 2016 or later, including Enterprise Edition features. Hands-on experience with Azure SQL, Azure Managed Instances, and database-as-a-service offerings. Experience implementing and managing HA/DR solutions. Proficiency in performance tuning, query optimization, and database indexing. Proficiency in database security principles and role-based access control. Strong scripting skills using T-SQL and PowerShell. Preferred: Experience supporting data warehouse environments or large-scale ETL workloads. Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric or Synapse Analytics. Understanding of compliance frameworks like SOX or FFIEC. Prior experience working as a contractor or consultant in financial services.
