Expectations are for interns to work two shifts each weekday, Monday - Friday, and four Saturday shifts per semester.Available shifts are Monday through Friday, either 8:00am-12:00pm or 1:00pm-6:00pm. Saturdays 12:00pm-4:00pm.The Pharmacy Intern will gain hands-on experience by working under the supervision of licensed pharmacists and certified pharmacy staff. The Intern will increasingly perform duties of a pharmacist in accordance to their progression of self-sufficiency and knowledge with each year of education.Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Process, prepare and fill prescriptions in an efficient and timely manner.Assist with prompt and professional customer service and care for patients, customers, pharmacy and health center staff, and outside entities. This will include cash register duties, OTC and prescription questions and concerns, and insurance llect and maintain patient information, insurance claims, medication distribution and accountability, and other associated records, in accordance with national, state, and internal regulations, policies, and procedures.Maintain a professional appearance of self and pharmacy areas in which you are assigned.Performs other tasks as assigned by the Pharmacist in accordance with rules and regulations of the Kansas Board of Pharmacy. For summer periods the student hourly must: (1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or (2) be pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or (3) be enrolled in summer session or (4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).Employment Conditions(1) Student employees are not eligible for remote work arrangements unless an exception is approved by the unit leadership and HR. (2) This is an hourly/non-exempt position. A student employee cannot hold an hourly/non-exempt position and a salaried/exempt graduate or undergraduate position (GRA/GTA/GA/RUA/RGA) concurrently.
