About the job Industrial Electrician Job Description:DIRECT HIRE - Worker will start on Day 1 as an Industrial Electrician. Candidates must hold a Journeymans card or have at least 7+ years of direct electrician experience in an industrial manufacturing environment working on manufacturing equipment (not facilities maintenance).A qualified journeyman electrician with construction or facilities experience is not a fit. Electrical work must be focused on machines in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the automotive industry.Required Experience & Skills:Industrial Maintenance & Electrical MaintenanceHigh Voltage & Medium Voltage Systems: Experience with 480V, 120V, and 24-volt DC circuitryPLC Experience: Allen Bradley preferredUnderstanding of Program Frequency Drives: Familiarity is important (controls engineers assist but knowledge of parameters is expected)CNC Machining Facility Experience: CNC experience is preferredFanuc and Siemens Controller Experience: Strong preference for candidates with knowledge of these CNC machine controllersPreferred Skills:Experience working on CNC machines in any industryFamiliarity with Allen Bradley CNC systemsDuties & Responsibilities:Troubleshoot and maintain PLCs, CNCs, Frequency Drives, motors, and associated circuitryExposure to 24V DC, 120V, 277V, and 480V circuitsTroubleshooting tasks may include working on proximity switches, light screens, safety circuits, cables, Ethernet and communication issues, motors, drives, relays, etc.Additional Information:Pay: $40 an hour with a $1 shift premium for 2nd and 3rd shiftsShifts: Candidates can expect to begin on 2nd (2PM - 10PM) or 3rd (10PM - 6AM) shiftOvertime: Required 2-3 Saturdays per month as per the union contract; overtime schedules are posted every Thursday and operate on a rotational basisOvertime Pay:Over 40 hours & Saturdays: 1.5x hourly paySundays & Holidays: 2x hourly payQualifications:Candidates must possess either:A four-year Journeyperson electrical card OR8 years of documented relevant job experience (on company letterhead)Candidates may be strong in either CNC or PLC experience, but both are not requiredCandidates must be able to demonstrate troubleshooting abilities during the interview processNote: Many candidates fail to answer technical questions during the interview process.
