The Electrical Commissioning Lead is responsible for overseeing all MV/LV electrical QA/QC and commissioning activities across the design, construction, and handover phases of critical infrastructure projects. This role ensures seamless coordination, system readiness, and compliance across all stakeholders, while maintaining the highest quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities
Lead all medium and low voltage (MV/LV) electrical QA/QC and commissioning activities from design through project handover. Oversee execution of equipment inspections, including delivery verifications and pre/post-startup validations. Coordinate system readiness and integration milestones across electrical systems, including MV, LV, and emergency power, in close collaboration with general contractors, subcontractors, and client teams. Review design drawings and submittals to ensure alignment with design intent and owner specifications. Manage field commissioning agents, lead walkdowns, and drive resolution of punch items and deficiencies. Produce and maintain commissioning progress reports for electrical systems. Ensure proper documentation, including O&M manuals, training deliverables, and as-built redlines. Develop and maintain final commissioning documentation, including system manuals and Cx reports. Facilitate and coordinate owner training sessions, ensuring system functionality is demonstrated and documented. Ensure strict compliance with industry standards including ASHRAE, NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and LEED. Enforce adherence to OSHA and site-specific safety protocols during all commissioning activities. Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to you in your role.
Skills Required
Strong understanding of electrical commissioning, QA/QC practices, and safety regulations. Proven experience leading complex electrical commissioning efforts within industrial or mission-critical environments.
Education / Licenses / Certifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred. Licensed Electrician (Journeyman or Master) highly desirable. Proof of education, licenses, and certifications will be required where applicable.
