Qualifications: Must be able to obtain a Commercial Driving License with a passenger and school endorsement. Must possess a valid driver's card issued by the MS Department of Education. High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Primary Job Goal: Transport students over a specified route according to time schedule. Comply with traffic regulations. Provide safe and efficient transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest advantage for curriculum and extra-curricular program. Reasonable or needed accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Essential Job Duties: Drives a school bus safely and professionally. Performs and properly completes daily pre-trip inspections. Complies with all traffic ordinances. Complies with discipline policies set forth in the School Code of Conduct for Transportation. Participates in on-site training. Shows proficiency in handling and maneuvering school bus. Able to pass driver license checks run annually at a minimum. Driver must meet these standards. Must pass State Skill Test and State Written Test. Able to pass physical and drug test. This is not an exhaustive list of the duties for this position. Additional duties are performed by the individuals holding this position and additional duties may be assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises students while transporting them. Supervises bus monitor when one is assigned to the bus.
