Selectek has an immediate need for an Entry Level Mechanical Engineer who will take on a Designer role. With this role, it will be important that the candidate have strong 3D CAD experience, preferably with Solidworks, but other software will be considered.  This person will design and prepare shop drawings and bills of material related to functionality and assembly of components of high voltage switch products.nEssential Responsibilities:n•  Prepares detail drawings / layouts and sketches of parts and equipment used by Transmission Switch Product Division for engineering and fabrication purposes.n•  Prepares Bills of Material for assemblies and sub-assemblies.n•  Reviews and processes orders for production.n•  Makes electrical, mechanical, and structural calculations associated with drawing preparation.n•  Initiates changes as assigned by Senior Designer or Application Engineer in existing drawings after investigating technical effects of such changes.n•  Other duties can include help with:n    o Erecting of switch products for testing purposes.n    o Process orders, drawings usually associated with Engineering Services.nRequired:nnBSME or BSMET in Mechanical EngineeringnStrong 3D CAD experience (Solidworks preferred)nStrong mechanical understandingnnJob Order Details:nThe focus of the role will be creating shop drawings for their switch applications. They will make changes to existing core drawings so their products can meet their client’s needs by customizing the equipment. In doing so, they will ensure the drawings are correct and help with the creation of the bill of materials. This client designs and make switches for the power industry.
