Penn State Children’s Hospital is recruiting a Director of Solid Tumor Program to join our Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. The selected candidate will oversee and expand our clinical program dedicated to the treatment of pediatric solid tumors, with an emphasis on integrating precision medicine approaches. This individual will lead a multidisciplinary team focused on delivering personalized care and fostering clinical trial initiatives.
This is a tenure-track position at the Associate to Full Professor academic rank, commensurate with experience and accomplishments.
What we’re seeking:
- BC/BE in Pediatrics and Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. MD, MD/PhD, DO, or foreign equivalent. Ability to acquire a license to practice in Pennsylvania. A strong track record in clinical, translational, or basic research in pediatric solid tumors is highly desirable.
About us:
- We have a newly endowed Cellular and Immunotherapy Research Program in Pediatric Oncology supported by a substantial endowment from the Four Diamonds Fund of the PSU College of Medicine, supporting the Four Diamonds Pediatric Cancer Research Center. The program is part of an interdepartmental genetics initiative. Our mission is to study immune regulation and develop cellular and immune therapies for pediatric cancers, encouraging collaborations between basic and clinical research. The division is an active member of COG, POETIC, and leads the Beat Childhood Cancer Research Consortium. We have an accredited Pediatric Heme/Onc fellowship program, with 15 full-time Pediatric Hematologists/Oncologists and 12 Ph.D. faculty. Annually, over 100 new oncology patients are seen, with programs in stem cell transplantation, experimental therapeutics, neuro-oncology, AYA oncology, and survivorship. Our research is supported by NIH grants, the Penn State Cancer Institute, and other institutions, providing an excellent environment for research.
