Position: Manufacturing Operator-New Melt
Position Overview:
The Manufacturing Operator operates equipment to melt and shape metal for further processing throughout the production facility; uses measuring instruments for quality control; orders parts when needed; and learns/adheres to all safety rules and regulations.
Starting Hourly Rate: $18
Responsibilities (100%): Prior experience as a machine operator preferred Sets up and prepares machines for production runs of close tolerance for wire and sheet Must learn how to make adjustments when product specifications are not within tolerance Inspects product visibly with use of magnification and using precise measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, indicators) for quality and proper dimensions Basic computer skills are necessary for tracking of jobs Ability to perform in short cycle, frequent changeover environment Identify proper dies for wire drawing Identify parts and descriptions using work order information Ability to schedule multiple jobs from processing stock Identify correct process steps for different metals and products Uses proper safety equipment and apparel required for each operation
Qualifications: REQUIRED: HS Diploma/GED Basic knowledge of arithmetic, weights, and measures Basic computer skills necessary for tracking of jobs Good communication skills and attention to detail are essential
Essential Physical/Environmental Requirements: May be required to perform specific tasks that involve standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting or kneeling Must be able to lift with or without mechanical aids on a recurring basis (up to 45 lbs.) Work is performed within a production environment, subject to temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, increased noise levels and dust
