Job Description Job Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist Profession: Diagnostic Imaging Specialty: Special Procedures Technologist, Radiologic Technologist Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Varies between 7-9 AM depending on the day of the week Hours per Shift: Open to 8 or 10 hours Experience: Minimum of 3 years in interventional radiology or cath lab License: Active Illinois license from IEMA Certifications: ARRT Certification in Radiology, BLS
Must-Have: Active x-ray license Experience in interventional radiology or cath lab
Description: This position is for an imaging role and is not an RN. It requires an active x-ray license. Candidates must have experience in interventional radiology or cath lab. There is a possibility to train someone with cath lab experience.
Candidates may assist with general x-ray if no interventional radiology procedures are being performed. The position will involve performing diagnostic radiographic exams. Utilization of PACS and EMR systems is required. The technologist will perform interventional procedures following established protocols. Maintaining appropriate IV and Contrast Competency is essential. The technologist must follow established protocols for patient positioning, exposure control, and radiation protection. Performing office duties as needed is expected, along with effective communication throughout the patient care process. Candidates are responsible for cleaning and inspecting departmental equipment and stocking imaging rooms. An associate degree is required for this role.
