Position Summary:
Maria Parham Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) on a night shift schedule. The RN will provide intermediate-level care for patients who require close monitoring and treatment but are stable enough to not require intensive care. Key Responsibilities: Monitor patients with acute conditions including cardiac, respiratory, and post-surgical needs Administer medications and therapies as prescribed by attending physicians Perform head-to-toe assessments and respond promptly to changes in patient condition Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement individualized care plans Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in electronic medical records Support patients and families by providing education and emotional care Comply with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and safety protocols Assist in transitions of care and discharge planning Qualifications: Active RN license in North Carolina or eligibility for compact state licensure Minimum 2 years of recent experience in PCU, telemetry, or step-down units BLS and ACLS certifications required Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to manage complex patient conditions Proficiency with cardiac monitoring and telemetry equipment Excellent communication and organizational abilities
