Overview
King William County Public Schools is in search of a Head Varsity Wrestling Coach. This individual is responsible for program building including planning, managing, and directing the varsity softball program. Additionally, candidate will review and adhere to VHSL and division policies and procedures, strive to develop the sports program by following established guidelines, and manage all aspects of the team including strength training and conditioning and practicing. The individual, in collaboration with the athletic director will work on scheduling, evaluation of student athletes, and management of the program budget. The individual will process and submit all required forms on time, monitor and maintain use of facilities and equipment, and complete an annual inventory of all issued equipment. If an instructional vacancy for which a candidate qualifies is available, he or she will be considered to fill the vacancy.
Essential Duties
1. Responsible for instructing players in the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport.
2. Organizes and directs individual and small group practice activities/exercises.
3. Assesses player's skills, monitors players during competition and practice, and remained abreast of the athletic and academic performance of students.
4. Supervises athletes during practices and competition.
5. Follows established procedures in the event of an athlete's injury.
6. Models sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators.
7. Maintains equipment and assumes responsibility for proper use and cleaning.
8. Participates in special activities to include parent's night, banquets, award nights, and pep assemblies.
9. Distributes and maintains eligibility forms, emergency data cards, and other related records.
10. Models non-discriminatory practices in all activities.
11. Attends staff development meetings, clinics and other professional activities to improve coaching performance and knowledge of the sport.
12. Performs any other related duties as assigned by the Athletic Director & Principal or other appropriate administrator.

Minimum Qualifications :
- Must possess knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport.
- Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, parents, and students.
- Qualified to teach in Virginia; current license preferred.
- Coaching experience in the sport required.
