A well recognized Pulmonology department in the Myrtle Beach area has an opportunity for an Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their team.
- Board Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
- Must have at least 2+ year of experience in role as NP/PA
- Outpatient clinical role and support inpatient consultations
- Mon-Thurs 8a-5p and Friday 8a-12p - rotate call with all providers on a 1:5 schedule
- Each NP/PA has a dedicated nurse and work closely with the Pulmonologists, Respiratory Therapists, Radiologists, and other specialists - 4 Physicians currently
- Average patient volume is 18-25 patients per day
- Primarily adult and geriatric patients with common cases such as COPD, asthma, sleep apnea, lung disease, and other pulmonary conditions
- Pulmonary fibrosis and pulmonary hypertension get referred out
- Visit types are follow-ups for chronic conditions, initial consultations for new respiratory symptoms, lung health screenings, and post-hospital discharge visits
- Procedures include pulmonary function tests, oxygen therapy evals, management of respiratory devices, medication adjustments and education
- EMR used is Cerner
