The Labor & Delivery Unit has 13 Labor & Delivery Rooms, 8 Ante partum Rooms, 3 Operating Rooms, 6 Triage Beds, and 4 Recovery Beds. With more than 5,000 deliveries a year, New York Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital is committed to delivering excellent patient care which focuses on the patient experience. The Maternal Child Health Department was awarded by Centers for Disease Control & Prevention as Best Maternal Practices in Infant Nutrition Care. The Labor & Delivery Unit have 24-hr Triage Attending Physician and Medical Attending Physician coverage.
In this role, the Nurse Manager is responsible for managing, planning, directing, implementing, coordinating and evaluating Nursing care for a specific unit and supports the mission and vision of New York Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. The Nurse Manager will manage the day to day activity of the unit and lead the nursing care team. She or he will maintain a professional and a nurturing environment that foster a culture of respect and kindness, where interdisciplinary team members contribute to optimal patient outcomes.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required, Master's Degree in Nursing or related field required (or Currently Enrolled)
Must currently be registered as a Professional Nurse in New York State
3+ years of Registered Nurse experience in Labor and Delivery is required
Leadership and/or collaborative experience required
Electronic Fetal Monitoring (or acquire certification within the first year of employment)
BCLS, ACLS and NRP
