Network Operations Specialist | Req#3750 DecisiveInstincts, LLC has an immediate opportunity for a Network Operations Specialist in Newport, RI. This position requires a Top-Secret Clearance. Target Start Date: Q1 2025 Responsibilities: Plan, implement, and operate hardware in a virtual and network services/systems platform. Install, configure, test, operate, maintain, and manage network devices including hardware, software, operating systems, and facilitate information sharing. Perform other duties as required. Requirements: Meet DOD 8140 role qualifications for Network Operations Specialist (441) proficiency level. Install and maintain voice and data infrastructure on classified and unclassified Cisco networks. Implement and document network devices such as routers, switches, wireless access points, security appliances, and VoIP equipment. Manage moves, additions, and changes of local area networks. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, inventory, and security measures using ITIL processes for voice and data networks. Collaborate with branch team members to assess and resolve infrastructure challenges. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Tasks (KSAT): Experience with Cisco IOS, Firewalls, VoIP, and VPNs. Configure and optimize network hubs, routers, and switches. Develop and implement network backup and recovery procedures. Diagnose network connectivity issues. Install and maintain network infrastructure device operating systems. Monitor network capacity and performance. Patch network vulnerabilities to safeguard information. Test and maintain network hardware and software. Understand remote access technologies. Knowledge of network security architecture, topology, protocols, and principles. Understanding of cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities. Familiarity with communication methods supporting network infrastructure. Knowledge of telecommunications concepts like routing algorithms and fiber optics. Implement VPN security measures. Use common network tools such as ping, traceroute, nslookup. Understand cloud service models (SaaS, IaaS, PaaS) in various environments. Principles of LAN and WAN, including bandwidth management. Assess system performance and availability metrics. Analyze network traffic and performance. Develop and test network contingency and recovery plans. Establish routing schemas and improve network security practices. Protect networks against malware and configure security components. Degree and Certifications: BS degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science from an ABET-accredited or CAE-designated institution, or equivalent certifications listed below: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Security Certified Network Defender (CND) CompTIA Network+ Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) CompTIA Cloud+ CompTIA Security+ CyberSec First Responder (CFR) GIAC GICSP Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) ********Direct Applicants only.
