Job Summary
To serve the Church by performing administrative tasks and services to support the daily operations within the HR department.
Duties and Responsibilities Assist the HR department in coordinating the various human resources procedures to ensure timely and effective delivery of all HR services and set priorities for meeting deadlines and balancing workload. Utilize a thorough understanding of the New Life Church employee policies and procedures as well as the workflow of the Human Resources department. Utilize a thorough understanding of Paycom processes and implementation of updates within the Paycom database. Develop, maintain, and expand knowledge and understanding of existing and proposed federal and state laws and regulations affecting human resource procedures and those applicable to New Life Church and our ministries. Communicate regularly with HR Specialist about departmental issues. Assist in planning for and participate in recruitment efforts for exempt and nonexempt staff. As directed, participate in the resolution of employee issues, anticipating issues whenever possible, and assist with taking appropriate steps for resolute ion. Review applications for staff and internship positions, coordinating their processing among the department staff. Conduct new employee orientations and assist with exit interview process. Administer health and benefits plans for group insurance including enrollments and terminations. Serve as liaison between employees and insurance providers as appropriate. Process required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record keeping and proper deductions. Assist with the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date personnel files for every staff member and intern, and maintain accurate HR information system records, compiling reports as needed. Using established protocols and prototype correspondence, draft and type correspondence, reports, and forms. Assist in developing, documenting, and monitoring appropriate personnel policies and procedures for the church. Maintain employee handbook, orientation documentation, various HR forms, and the NLC organizational chart. Maintain confidentiality with sensitive individual information. Must demonstrate awareness and embrace the reality that the Human Resources department is a servant department above all, balancing that role with organizational, legal, and ethical requirements. Assist Human Resources Director, as requested, with special projects, events, and diverse tasks in support of the Executive Pastor's office. Attend HR department meetings, regular all-staff meetings and other meetings as required. Cooperate with all ministries at New Life Church in building a strong team environment among our staff and maintaining our ministry of serving others. Cooperate with the Human Resources Specialist by performing any other duties when asked. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to read and carry out written and oral instructions. Strong computer skills, including familiarity and experience with a variety of software applications, such as: the MS Office suite of applications -- Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, and Excel. Experience with email, such as MS Outlook. Strong organizational and office skills. Ability to perform basic arithmetical functions. Detail-oriented and self-motivated. Ability to verbally communicate effectively and tactfully at all levels. Personable and helpful attitude. Ability to handle constantly changing priorities and demands. Excellent grammar skills and written communication skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks and to complete projects with little guidance. Able to work well under pressure. Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information. Proficiently operate various office machines. Excellent phone/communication skills Education and Experience
Education: Bachelor's Degree is preferred
Experience: Three plus years of related experience in Human Resources, Personnel Management and/or Accounting

Physical Demands:
Regularly required to sit and occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Close visual acuity to is necessary to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
