The Data Analyst supports the effective use of data across the school division by ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and accessibility of critical student and program data. This position manages and verifies data collections for state reporting, maintains key records in the student information system, and responds to information requests from schools and central office staff. The analyst also helps build efficient, replicable data processes that promote data- driven decision-making at all levels of the division.
Qualifications: High school diploma required, and associate degree and/or specialized training in handling and using data preferred Minimum of 2 years of experience working with data management, student information systems, or educational reporting (experience in a K12 school district or education setting strongly preferred) Strong understanding of data collection, validation, and reporting processes, especially in the context of K12 education Familiarity with state and federal education reporting requirements, including but not limited to SRC, PEC, SBAR, MSC, and CTE credentialing Proficient in using student information systems (Infinite Campus) for data entry, reporting, and verification Skilled in data analysis tools, such as Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or statistical software (STATA) Ability to manage large data sets with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail Strong problem solving skills and the ability to identify data discrepancies and ensure data integrity Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and respond to data and information requests in a timely and professional manner Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems Understanding of educational programs and student services including EL programs, CTE, special education, and assessment systems is preferred Essential Duties:
Assists director and coordinators in completion of state reporting requirements for the division Completes Positions and Exits Collection (PEC), Student Behavior and Administrative Response Collection (SBAR), Instructional Personnel and Licensure Report (IPAL), and Master Schedule Collection (MSC) for regional centers and lab schools Completes CTE Credential Collection for the division Manages and acquires student testing identification numbers Assists with data quality and verification in the student information system related to student enrollments, schedules, programs, behaviors, services, and flags Maintains EL programs, services, and assessment results in student information system Locates lost transfer students, verifies dropout data, first day drops, unscheduled students, special circumstances students, and missing enrollments Completes student registrations for CTE credentialing exams Assists with management of verified credit and substitute test records, CPR/First Aid Completion, Drivers Ed Completion, state assessment results and CTE credentialing results in the student information system Assists director and coordinators in managing data, research and evaluation projects Supports director through the development and distribution of data reports and visualizations Assists with assessment data uploads to the student data management system (eduCLIMBER) Responds to division and school staff data requests
Pay Rate:
Administrative Support Grade C11 Salary Scale (credit is based on years of full-time experience in a related position)
Assignment: Full time / 12 months / 245 days
