The
NDT Technician Trainee
will work under the direct supervision of the Responsible Level III NDT Manager by performing basic non-destructive testing (NDT) and maintenance functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Values quality of work, safety and integrity in the workplace Inspects components and component parts for damage using non-destructive testing using special tooling and equipment. Under the guidance of certified NDT Technicians, this representative performs tests and checks as required to confirm component or aircraft serviceability. In accordance with CHI Maintenance Practices, this representative will document all work performed and inspection findings. Keeps area clean, orderly and FOD free. Follows standard work procedures for equipment maintenance and clean up. Participates in the total preventive maintenance program in the NDT shop. Ensures tools and equipment are well maintained, operable and accounted for. Conduct oneself in accordance with Company's Core Values. Other duties may be assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent. Preferred experience in non-destructive testing, preferably in the NDT methods of Magnetic Particle (MT), Liquid Penetrant (PT) or Eddy Current (ET). A strong aptitude for acquiring new mechanical skills and knowledge Familiarity with the products and processes associated with aircraft maintenance and manufacturing is preferred. Ability to understand repair station procedures, quality management system procedures (maintenance and manufacturing) and associated federal aviation regulations is preferred. Proactive problem solver Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Office applications Ability to work overtime and/or weekends as assigned, dependent on production needs Ability to travel domestically and internationally and have a valid Driver's License
