Associate Director, Los Angeles Chapter for a well-established nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the wellbeing, education, and development of active-duty military personnel and veterans. With a national presence and a mission grounded in strengthening community and connection, the organization provides comprehensive programming, strategic partnerships, and philanthropic initiatives to enhance quality of life for service members and their families.
The ideal Associate Chapter Director will help lead the growth and operational success of a the LA chapter, a key region within the national org. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, this high-impact role is deeply involved in advancing strategic fundraising efforts and deepening community engagement. Our perfect candidate brings a proactive mindset, a competitive spirit, and a consistent drive to achieve ambitious goals in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. Success in this role requires strong adaptability, the ability to quickly absorb new information, and an agile approach to shifting priorities. The Associate Chapter Director will serve as a relationship builder and ambassador, fostering meaningful connections with individuals, philanthropic partners, and stakeholder groups. A confident, outgoing, and persuasive communication style is essential, along with the ability to leverage internal systems and apply proven strategies for cultivating and stewarding a diverse portfolio of donors, including individuals, foundations, and legacy givers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Identify and cultivate relationships with potential donors, including individuals, corporations, foundations, and other organizations. Exemplify exceptional stewardship practices to ensure the retention and growth of existing donors. Develop and oversee comprehensive pipeline reports, serving as a strategic tool to drive chapter growth. Collaborate closely with Chapter Director, local Board members and lay leaders, serving as a valuable resource for their efforts in prospecting, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors. Plan, coordinate, and execute fundraising campaigns, such as annual appeals, crowdfunding initiatives, special events, and online giving campaigns. Effectively utilize the CRM platform in support of donor relationship management and as a means to monitor and evaluate fundraising performance, including tracking revenue, donor retention rates, campaign effectiveness, and return on investment. Leadership of one direct report with responsibilities for hiring, mentoring, coaching, and performance management of new additions to the team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree preferred. 4+ years fundraising and development experience in a mission-driven organization. Experience with Raisers Edge strong nice-to-have. Outstanding communication, public speaking, and engagement skills, with the ability to inspire and influence diverse audiences. Strong coaching and facilitation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Slack, and Zoom. Ability to travel locally as necessary. Occasional evening/weekend event attendance required.
Compensation And Benefits
This opportunity offers a competitive salary range of $85,000$100,000 (dependent on experience) and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, retirement with employer match, life insurance, disability insurance, FSA, and sick and vacation time in addition to paid federal and Jewish holidays.
