Our client is actively seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with cardiology experience to provide locum tenens coverage. This role includes a mix of inpatient rounding, consults, and outpatient clinic work, with support from a well-established cardiology team. The ideal candidate can offer 10 or more shifts per month and is comfortable managing a diverse cardiology patient population in a dynamic hospital setting.

• Schedule:

  • Clinic: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

  • Hospital: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM

• Setting: Hybrid - Inpatient and Outpatient

• Telehealth: Available on inclement weather days

• Call: Light in-house/beeper call - approx. 4-5 weekday patient calls per month + 1 weekend/month

• Rounding on cardiology patients: general, heart failure, interventional, and electrophysiology

• Inpatient consults and follow-up care

• Outpatient cardiology clinic

• Discharge planning collaboration with hospitalists

• Responding to ER cardiology consults

• Coverage includes cardiac ICU and cardiac floors (4A-4D, 3E)

• No admissions (cardiology is consult-only service)

• No cardiac procedures or stress tests performed by APP (tests are ordered only)

• Nuclear stress tests

• Echo stress tests

• Treadmill stress tests

• EPIC

• Active Missouri license or eligibility via IMLC

• National Certification as PA-C or NP

• ACLS & BLS certified (additional cardiology-related certs preferred)

• 30-45 days credentialing time

• Cardiology experience preferred

• Strong multidisciplinary team

• 20 support staff onsite

• Collaborative environment with hospitalists and cardiology attendings
