Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated
Nurse Manager
to lead a 42-bed Medical-Surgical Unit in a high-volume acute care hospital. This role requires an experienced clinical leader to oversee daily operations, support nursing staff, and ensure exceptional patient outcomes. The ideal candidate has recent leadership experience in med-surg or other adult inpatient settings and a commitment to continuous improvement and team collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily operations and nursing practice within the Med-Surg unit (42 beds). Manage a team of 57 FTEs, including Clinical Nurse Coordinators (CNCs), RNs, LPNs, and PCTs. Monitor patient outcomes and implement quality improvement processes. Collaborate with the Acute Care Director and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality care. Promote a positive and supportive work environment; mentor staff and encourage professional development. Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and policy standards. Participate in budget planning, staffing, and departmental goal setting. Maintain a strong focus on patient advocacy and satisfaction. Qualification
Associates or Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred) Active Florida RN license or Advanced Practice license Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or obtained within 30 days of hire) Minimum 2-3 years of recent RN leadership experience in an acute care hospital Strongly preferred: leadership experience in Med-Surg, PCU, or ICU Note: Travel charge nurse experience not considered sufficient for this role Benefits Include:
