Job Description :
A Certified Hand Therapist is a licensed occupational or physical therapist who has significant experience and specialty certification in treating hand and upper extremity conditions. This position is pivotal in providing specialized care that empowers patients to regain function, alleviate pain, and improve the quality of their daily lives. By blending advanced therapeutic techniques with compassionate patient care, CHTs play a crucial role in recovery and rehabilitation for individuals facing challenges due to injuries, surgeries, or chronic conditions affecting the hands, wrists, elbows, and shoulders.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' hand and upper extremity function. Develop and implement personalized treatment plans based on initial assessments and ongoing evaluations. Utilize therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modalities to improve range of motion, strength, and functionality. Educate patients and their families on injury prevention, home exercise programs, and post-treatment care. Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care. Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy from an accredited program. Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) or Physical Therapist (PT). Current state licensure in Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy. Certification as a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT). Strong manual therapy, splinting & outpatient orthopedic skills are preferred.
