Overview
The ACCOUNT SPECIALIST works under the direction of the Credit Manager; responsible for collections of past due accounts in a positive, professional manner; responsible for authorizing credit lines up a specified amount.
Requirements
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review all past due accounts, place on COD/CASH when necessary, set up on payment plans and ensure follow-through while maintaining the business relationship in good standing.
- Send out appropriate credit letters/notifications as needed (past due, COD, Final Demand, etc.).
- Process payments via faxed checks (CHAX), credit card and ACH as needed.
- Research all customer questions and or complaints in a timely manner.
- Process NSF checks as needed.
- Ensure all contact with the customer is noted.
- Perform other duties as appropriate and assigned.
- Support company goals and uphold K&M Values.
- Adjust service charges up to $75 (level II)
- Pull reports/queries as necessary to assist with departmental operations (level II)
- File UCC-1's (level II)
- Have a deep knowledge of our outside collections process and to assist when needed (level III)
- Ability to make adjustments in MaddenCo (level III)
- Employee Account collections (level III)
- Review accounts over $100K; request & review financials for high-limit customers (level III)
- Provide backup support for Credit Manager with a variety of duties (level III)
- Ability to work in a multi-task, professional environment.
- Ability to prioritize and organize effectively.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to communicate and express ideas effectively both in written and oral communications.

- Project a professional image of yourself and the company.
- Knowledge and ability to use the following office equipment: computer, telephone, copier, fax, and calculator.
- Knowledge and ability to use the following software: word and excel
Account Specialist I Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Satisfactory testing on entry level skills
- Qualifications for Account Specialist I; plus
Account Specialist III Minimum Qualifications:
- Qualifications for Account Specialist II; plus
- 4-year business degree or 4 years relevant experience
- Serve as back-up to Credit Manager for a temporary period of time
- Actively participate in Leadership Development
