American Traveler seeks a skilled RN for an Antepartum Mother Baby position requiring fetal monitoring experience and night shifts.Job Details•Work in a high-risk antepartum unit within a hospital setting,•Unit has 18 beds with an average daily census of 12,•Cares for antepartum patients from 4 weeks gestation to term, including patients requiring telemetry or magnesium infusions,•Handles GYN surgery and oncology surgery patients, as well as readmissions for surgery complications and delivery of patients less than 20 weeks gestation,•Couplet care required with patient ratios typically 1:3-5 or 1:4-5 for couplets,•Night shifts (3x12 hours from 18:45 to 7:15), with a requirement to work every other weekend,•Floating to L&D (if qualified), Pediatrics, and/or Mother Baby as needed,•No on-call requirement,•Uses Epic for charting, Pyxis for medication administration, and CPN,Job Requirements•Active RN license for NC or Compact state required at start,•Minimum 2 years of recent antepartum experience with couplet care,•Current certifications: BLS, NRP, AWHONN Beginner or Intermediate, and Intermediate EFM; must be able to read EFM strips,•Experience with fetal monitoring required,•Epic charting experience preferred,•First-time travelers accepted,•Must complete required hospital and unit orientation during first week,•References from two recent managers or supervisors required at start,Additional Information•Responsibilities include fetal and maternal assessments, high-risk pregnancy monitoring, couplet care, and managing PICC and insulin drips,•Will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment,•Navy, white, or combination scrubs required,•Must be available for hospital and unit orientation during the first week; no RTO allowed during orientation week,•Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays,•Floating may include affiliate hospitals as needed,•Travel pairs are allowed, but each nurse must be assigned to a different unit,•Candidates with a permanent address under 50 miles may be considered local,•Previous perm or per diem staff of the health system must be gone for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler and require facility rehire approval
