TE Connectivity's R&D Senior Development Engineer will work with cross-functional teams to develop industrial and military products (primarily LVDT's and potentiometers) throughout all phases of NPD as well as helping to maintain existing product through cost downs or obsolescence. Job Requirements
Experience with 3D modelling, direct or parametric (SolidWorks experience preferred)
Experience with simulation/analysis tools (FEA, Moldflow, CFD, etc)
Experience with designing product for Additive Manufacturing/Rapid Prototyping technologies
An awareness of LEAN principles and other Six Sigma methodologies, LDFSS Black Belt or Green Belt certification a plus
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and quality assurance protocols
Product Engineering experience (sustaining) working with quality, manufacturing, operations, suppliers, and directly with customers
Experience applying Geometric Design and Tolerancing methods.
Thorough understanding of creating and checking Engineering Prints and Documents.
Demonstrated ability to implement innovative thinking (patents, noteworthy designs, novel process improvements, taking risks)
Create and implement validation test plans to understand the product responses to design and manufacturing variables
Create reports and presentations to communicate status updates and progress
Coordinate with the engineering team, the Project Manager and other departments to transfer new products into production
Participate in Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) sessions
Support released products by creating cost saving and design improvements
Strong business acumen as well as a strong technical aptitude to understand our products and customer needs
Experience working on cross-functional teams

10%-25% Travel required dependent on Project status What Your Background Should Look Like
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline preferred from US accredited university.
A minimum of 5 years of experience developing solutions for industrial and military application Qualifications:
US Citizen
Proficient in MS Office Software such as Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, Continuous Improvement (Kaizen, 5S, 6?)
Understanding of the NPD process from design initiation to production release
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
