Direct message the job poster from PTS Advance This role involves leading and performing inspection, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and start-up of low and medium voltage electrical distribution equipment, including breakers, transformers, switchgear, relays, switches, and motor control centers. Work will take place both on-site and in a shop environment. A strong understanding of electrical distribution systems and proficiency with complex electrical test equipment is essential. Safety, professionalism, and technical accuracy are key to project success. Key Responsibilities: Perform testing on electrical components such as LV/MV cables, power and instrument transformers, breakers, switchgear, and protective relays (electro-mechanical and solid-state). Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, manuals, and consult with engineering personnel to diagnose and resolve issues. Support multiple projects using internal systems to track job progress and documentation from start to finish. Complete maintenance, repairs, replacements, and cleaning of substation equipment and electrical apparatus. Prepare detailed test reports and service records documenting all work performed. Promote a safety-first culture and foster teamwork and continuous improvement across all tasks. Requirements: Strong technical background in power distribution equipment and systems. Experience using electrical testing tools and diagnostics (e.g., Megger, Hi-Pot, relay test sets). Ability to manage projects, document findings, and work both independently and collaboratively. Flexibility to work in both field and shop environments, with travel to customer sites across Mid-Atlantic region required.
