What You Will Do: Work under the direct supervision of Vacaville Unified School District Behavior Analysts and Registered Behavior Technicians in the supervision and instruction of special education students in a variety of settings including; the community and classroom. You will assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of behavior intervention programs for identified special education students as well as implement classroom behavior systems in regionalized special education programs. You will attend student progress meetings, assist students with, demonstrate proper physical care and hygiene, and other duties as assigned. A Day in the Life: As a Paraprofessional, your day is a dynamic mix of observing students, collecting behavior data, and modeling strategies like visual schedules and positive reinforcement. You’ll support staff, assist with IEP goals, and jump in wherever needed—whether that’s in the classroom, community, or on the bus. Some days include assisting team members, collaborating with specialists, or helping a student with daily routines like grooming or mobility. It’s hands-on, fast-paced, and deeply rewarding work that makes a real difference. You Are: A dedicated, hands-on professional with experience supporting students with behavioral needs in school or clinical settings. The ideal candidate is passionate to support behavior strategies, data collection, and team collaboration, and is comfortable working across classrooms, the community, and transportation. , Vacaville Unified School District is excited to provide the supervision and support needed to certify! If you are an aspiring RBT, this is a great opportunity! Must Haves: Associate’s Degree, completion of 40 undergraduate credit hours, or a passing score on the ParaPro exam. Experience supporting individuals with behavioral needs in highly individualized settings. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Proficiency with basic computer programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Suite) and educational devices. CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain). Completion of Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training within 3 months of hire (with annual renewal). Physical Requirements: Must be able to see and hear clearly, communicate effectively, and perform frequent physical tasks including standing, walking, lifting students (with assistance), and moving objects up to 50 pounds.
