Job Overview:
The SPARK Parent Partner supports the educational and developmental needs of young children and their families through the SPARK Ohio Initiative. This role helps ensure a smooth transition from home or child care settings to kindergarten by providing monthly in-home or center-based visits, developmental screenings, and individualized learning plans. The Parent Partner builds trusted relationships with families and connects them to essential services to support early learning and long-term school success. This is a part-time position with flexible hours, averaging approximately 10-12 hours per week.
*Fluent in Spanish preferred
Job Functions: Provide monthly face-to-face visits with assigned children and families in homes and/or early learning settings. Conduct and oversee developmental screening tools as directed by the SPARK Program Lead Specialist. Support the implementation of individualized learning plans and promote age-appropriate early learning strategies. Facilitate transitions from home or preschool to kindergarten by empowering families and supporting readiness goals. Help build parent-school partnerships and improve school engagement. Attend required SPARK Parent Partner meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development. Link families to additional learning resources and community services as needed. Maintain accurate, timely documentation of visits and services delivered. Represent Appleseed and the SPARK program professionally in the community. Perform other duties as assigned by the SPARK Program Lead Specialist or agency leadership. Job Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required. At least one year of experience in education, early childhood, or social services preferred. Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with families. Reliable transportation, valid Ohio driver's license, and personal liability insurance. Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule. Basic computer skills for documentation and communication.
