The College of Engineering at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, AZ is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Lab Technician to join one of the most innovative and dynamic undergraduate engineering education programs in the country. This role is crucial to the smooth operation of our labs and capstone projects and the success of our students' learning experiences. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in engineering test facilities and equipment, along with a passion for working with students. Key Responsibilities Assist in day-to-day operations of engineering labs, ensuring all equipment is present and functional. Provide support to faculty in the use of engineering test facilities and equipment. Assist in the preparation and execution of laboratory experiments and demonstrations. Work with undergraduate engineering students on their capstone projects. Maintain a clean, safe, and well supplied laboratory environment. Conduct training sessions and workshops for students on the proper use of lab equipment and techniques. Participate in the department's program marketing activities to prospective students and in campus tours. The College of Engineering (COE) currently has five programs: Electrical, Computer, Software, Mechanical, and Aerospace Engineering. Faculty are housed in a modern academic complex. State-of-the-art electrical and electronics equipment are available in COE labs including the linear circuit, control, communications, microprocessor, robotics, and mechatronics labs. The COE faculty also make extensive use of the Aerospace Experimentation and Fabrication laboratory complex. This building consists of a fabrication suite, space systems lab, structural dynamics lab, materials science lab, mechanical testing lab, structures lab, and dedicated faculty research labs. The recently completed Propulsion and Aerodynamics Complex is a 12,000 square foot building that houses resources and space for both the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Departments. Qualifications
Technical degree or certification in Engineering, Engineering Technology or related field. Proven experience in engineering test facilities and use of lab equipment. Proven experience in engineering product designs and developments. Good organizational skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient laboratory environment. Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of faculty, staff, and students.
