Social Work Semester Lecturer (Lima Campus)
The Ohio State University on the Lima campus seeks a part-time (25% FTE), semester Lecturer in the Department of Social Work starting Autumn 2025 to teach SOCWORK 3401: Res Diverse Popul. Lecturers from our communities bring extensive knowledge and expertise to the classroom based on their educational backgrounds and social work practice experience. Their efforts enrich the curriculum for our students, and they provide a perspective that keeps our curriculum anchored in current issues and practices from the field. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to the teaching mission of The Ohio State University, supported by a background in direct social work practice with individuals, families, groups, and communities. The ideal candidate will have experience working with many populations, the ability to create inclusive and supportive classroom environments, and expertise in helping students develop interviewing and engagement skills. A comprehensive understanding of human development across the lifespan, along with in-depth knowledge of the NASW Code of Ethics and the core values of the social work profession, is essential. Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in social work (MSW) and two-years of post-graduate social work practice experience Record of successful teaching Ability to work effectively with diverse populations Preferred Qualifications: MSW, a minimum of two years of post-graduate social work experience, and teaching/training experience Experience working within Ohio state, or on a regional campus of a large university Strong interpersonal skills enabling positive relationships with students, faculty, staff Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team Energetic and enthusiastic self-motivator This position is located at the Lima campus in Lima, Ohio.
