Job Opportunity At Orem Public Library
The Orem Public Library is currently hiring to fill two Lead Library Assistant positions, one on their General Reference/Media team and one on their Circulation team, both in the Patron Experience Division. This is a part-time, non-benefited position working under the general supervision of an Associate Librarian, Librarian, or Division Manager. This position is responsible for providing general library services to the public and performing supervisory duties. Responsibilities include providing general and in-depth reference and advisory service to the public, assisting/instructing patrons in the use of library resources, assisting with circulation activities (e.g. checking items out, issuing library cards, handling money, etc.), and assisting with collection development. This position also acts as a floor manager, overseeing the general workflow and day-to-day operations within their assigned service area, assisting with training staff, and troubleshooting issues with staff, patrons, and equipment as they arise. This position also works collaboratively with teams across the library to ensure clear communications and efficient workflows, and performs other duties as assigned. Tasks in this position may include some light physical effort. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about working with the public and able to deliver a high standard of service, even in stressful situations. Evenings and weekends will be required.
