Job Summary and Qualifications JOB SUMMARY: Will utilize the nursing process to independently deliver nursing care to patients in order to achieve quality outcomes and communicates need for guidance/supervision based on self-assessment of strengths and limitations. Promotes a positive image of nursing and promotes collegiality among healthcare team members. Market Float Pool RNs are scheduled in accordance with the Staffing and Scheduling- Nursing, RN Floating - Healthy Workplace Environment (HWE) and Attendance policies. Requirements of RN unit based, facility based, or system based pools are based on which pool they are in. Resource and Non-RN Resource Pool RN's are required to work the following: Hours per Pay Period: Full Time: Minimum of 36 hours per week. 4 weekend shifts per scheduling cycle (28 days) PRN:Based on Tier Level Agreement Holiday Requirements: Full Time/PRN: Two Major and Two Minor holidays for the year. Floating: Market Float Pool employees will be required to float to all Las Palmas Del Healthcare System Facilities. Market Float Pool Nurses will be scheduled in units in which they have competencies. Market Float Pool Nurse can be placed in a unit below their competency level. EDUCATION REQUIRED: Associates degree Nursing or BSN required Experience required (Minimum amount of specifically related experience which is required to perform the role at this level. Note in Other additional specific exp.): Less than 1 year 1
3 years: 3 - 7 years More than 7 years Other required experience: Minimum of at least three years of RN experience with a minimum of two year specialty experience for those floating to specialty areas. LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS Required: 1. Current license to practice professional nursing in the state of Texas or Compact Nursing License. If your compact license is from a state besides Texas, you will be required to obtain a TX Nursing License within 90 days after your start date. Obtaining a permanent Texas license is not required for nurses hired on the seasonal plan. 1. BLS from the American Heart Association Required Upon Hire (for certifications only: upon hire is defined as within two business days of start date) 1. ACLS from the American Heart Association Required Upon Hire (for certifications only: upon hire is defined as within two business days of start date) 1. NIH Stroke Certification Required within 60 days from hire date and annually. PREFERRED EDUCATION: 1. CCRN preferred. 2. PALS preferred. 3. TNCC preferred.
