Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist to join our team on a PRN basis. In this role, you will evaluate, plan, and administer therapeutic procedures in physical medicine and rehabilitation as prescribed by referring physicians. Your primary focus will be on creating tailored physical therapy goals, delivering effective treatments, and regularly reassessing patient progress with precise documentation.
Your expertise will contribute to high-quality patient care while respecting privacy and upholding patient rights. Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to support our patients through their recovery journey.
Essential Functions
- Conduct thorough evaluations to assess patient needs and develop customized treatment plans.
- Provide safe and effective therapy treatments, ensuring accurate documentation of all interventions.
- Reassess and modify treatment plans as needed based on patient progress and evolving requirements.
- Document evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and billing information comprehensively.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment methods, therapeutic exercises, and post-treatment care for sustained recovery.
- Ensure safe operation of therapy equipment and maintain a clean and organized environment for patients and staff.
- Collaborate with referring physicians, colleagues, and interdisciplinary team members to enhance the quality of patient care.
- Demonstrate competencies tailored to various patient demographics for personalized care.
- Adhere to facility policies, including safety, infection control, and risk management.
- Adapt professionally to changes, following the chain of command to address any issues affecting patient care.
- Perform additional duties as assigned and comply with all relevant policies and standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy required.
- Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred.
- 0-2 years of experience in a physical therapy setting required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong understanding of physical therapy principles, techniques, and safety standards.
- Ability to conduct comprehensive evaluations and develop effective treatment plans.
- Proficient in using therapy equipment and technology for documentation and billing purposes.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities for collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to efficiently prioritize tasks.
- Commitment to professional development and compliance with ethical and legal standards.
Licenses and Certifications
- PT - Physical Therapist license in the state of employment required.
- BCLS - Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
