PA Program Simulation Learning Coordinator Description
PA Program Simulation Learning Coordinator
Full Time (32 hours/week at PA Program & 8 hours/week for Clinical Practice/Research)
Purpose
Coordinate the Simulation Lab Components of the Didactic, Clinical, and Advanced Clinical
Phases of the PA Program.
Duties/Responsibilities
Responsible for coordination of student learning experiences in the Simulation Lab. Prepares syllabi and student learning objectives for all simulating related courses. Provides analysis of simulation related courses for appropriateness of integration into overall curriculum structure, sequence, and content. Schedules classes, lab sessions, small group meetings, and presentations that focus on a sequenced, building block learning approach. Prepares and reviews assessment tools, collaborating with faculty in the construction, analysis, and outcomes of assessment tools. Responsible for workload equivalent of three courses per semester. Serves a student advisor, monitoring student progress, meeting with students and assuring the implementation of appropriate interventions, when required. Analyzes student and curriculum outcomes for review at committee meetings and by the Executive Director. Provides analysis of student evaluations of courses, learning experiences and teaching instructors for review at committee meetings and by the Executive Director. Participates in clinical site visits, as assigned. Actively participates in the remediation process of students, when required. Serves as an advisor for a research thesis group. Attends and participates in PA committee meetings, program activities, and campus events. Serves as a Chair of a Committee, developing agenda, preparing minutes, and providing outcome reports. Contributes to ongoing self-study process and formal reports to ARC-PA. Serves as a faculty leader for experiential service learning events (e.g.: Medical Education/Mission Trips) Attends professional conferences representing the PA Program and the College.
Qualifications
Work Experience:
Minimum 5 years of academic and or clinical experience
Education:
Master’s degree (MS, MPA, MPH)
Doctorate Preferred (PhD, DHSC, DMS, EdD)
SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:
1 day a week dedicated to Clinical Practice or Research.
Available weekends for campus events (e.g.: Campus Visit Days)
