Optomi, in partnership with our large entertainment client, are seeking an experienced Senior Radio Frequency/Media Engineer for a 2 year + contract opportunity in Bristol, CT.
The shift is:
Sunday/Monday/Tuesday from 6PM-6AM and Wednesday from 6PM - Midnight Please Note:

Senior Media Engineer
to support and advance large-scale media infrastructure and broadcast systems for a major media organization. You'll play a key role in initiatives like campus-wide IPTV upgrades and RF/transmission projects—maintaining uptime and performance of complex video and audio systems in a 24/7 operation. Key Responsibilities Execute upgrades and maintenance of IPTV systems across production environments Provide technical support for RF, satellite, and fiber transmission systems Troubleshoot and resolve incidents in live and post-production workflows Maintain and monitor control room systems, encoding workflows, and IP-based media infrastructure Create and maintain detailed technical documentation including CAD drawings Perform hardware/software updates, preventative maintenance, and technical evaluations Participate in infrastructure planning, capital improvements, and system integration projects Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent—or equivalent professional experience 5+ years of experience supporting media and broadcast engineering systems Advanced knowledge of: Signal compression (MPEG2/4, HEVC, JPEG 2000, JPEG XS) IP-based signal flow and routing Cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, etc.)—at least one foundational cloud cert required Familiarity with tools and systems from Evertz (Magnum, VistaLink, EQX/EXE routers, VLPro) Strong scripting knowledge preferred (Python, NodeJS, Bash, PowerShell) Experience with Nielsen NACAT, VANC equipment, and studio audio/video technology Ability to interpret technical documentation, schematics, and CAD drawings Comfortable working at heights, using lifts, and performing physical installations (valid driver’s license required) Preferred Experience Exposure to media asset management (MAM), transcoding/encoding workflows Support of broadcast automation and production systems (e.g., Avid, Adobe, Vizrt, Imagine, Ross, Dalet, Calrec, Lawo) Familiarity with microservices architecture and DevOps practices Seniority level
