Job Summary: The Plant Foreman assists the director of Plant Operations and the Maintenance Supervisor in the supervision and coordination of Plant Operations and custodial staff at their particular site; ensures that the site's community investment in education is maintained and protected.

Essential Functions: • Assists the Lead Plant Foreman in developing methods and procedures for Plant Operations and the custodial activities at their particular site. • Assists the Maintenance Supervisor in training Plant Operations and custodial staff. • Assists the Night Lead Custodian in developing work areas for custodial staff. • Assists in maintaining all Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) records ensuring all site personnel are trained in this area. • Assists in the hiring process of all site Plant Operations and custodial personnel. • Devises work schedules for preventive maintenance ensuring work is done correctly and in a timely manner. • Coordinates site-based Plant Operations and custodial staff activities to ensure optimal levels of performance. • Evaluates the work performance of site-based Plant Operations and the custodial staff. • Ensures that all national and city codes are followed. • Performs regular inspections on a scheduled basis of the facility including grounds/custodial areas ensuring standards set by the Governing Board are met. • On-call at all times for emergencies at the site. • Facilitates on-going communication with site administration informing them of progress of all Plant Operations and grounds/custodial activities and ensuring these needs are met. • Obtains and maintains current CPR certification. • Ensures that all work is completed in accordance with District policy and applicable state and federal laws. • All other duties as designated by the Director of Plant Operations.
Training and Experience: • High School Diploma or equivalent. • Two years' experience in grounds/custodial work (school experience desirable). • One year experience in supervision. • One year experience in one or more skilled trades, i.e., electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, carpentry, painting, etc. • Direct experience in a school environment. • Direct experience overseeing and coordinating remodeling projects.
Licensing/Certification Requirements: • Valid Arizona Driver's License. • Valid CPR certification.
Knowledge Of: • Two-way radio system.
Skill In: • Excellent customer service skills. • Organization with demonstrated ability to multi-task. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; maintaining rapport and composure with parents, students, staff, and the general public. • Working within specific time frames and be detail oriented. • Prioritizing workload.
