Hanover Iron Works, Inc.: Our Mission Hanover Iron Works has been fabricating and erecting customized steel stairways, rails, and other miscellaneous metal components in the Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and North Carolina commercial markets for more than 60 years. SUMMARY The CNC Operator plays a crucial role in the planning and executing phase of projects. The specific job description may vary depending on the projects involved. DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES The duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: Load and unload the burning table using the overhead crane with chains or magnet. Remove cut products from the table, stack on pallets or place them in bins, and ensure timely delivery to the next department as required. Program and operate plasma cutter as well as programming the set up using proper gases and cutting tips. Perform routine maintenance including cleaning machines and workspace. Troubleshoot programs. Work in accordance with established safety rules and good housekeeping practices. Work on additional equipment or tasks outside the job description as directed by the Plant Manager. Perform all necessary quality checks during production and complete daily production reports accurately. Must be able to work independently and in a safety sensitive position. Must be able to lift and move materials weighing 5-75 lbs. Safely operating a Hard Tire or Telehandler Forklift (training provided by the company) to unload material trucks. Verify received materials against paperwork; report any discrepancies. Correctly label materials with proper ID numbers for easy identification. Arrange materials efficiently to maximize space and ensure proper placement. Work Environment/Risk Factors: Subject to inside environmental conditions: dust and foreign particles, welding fumes, exhaust fumes, paint fumes, etc. Exposure to loud noises, moving mechanical parts and electrical shock risk. Successful candidates will have: High School Diploma or equivalent Experience with overhead cranes, basic hand tools, and tape measures. Must be able to drive a forklift and safely handle materials. Experience working on a CNC controlled plasma cutting system is a plus. Computer Skills: Basic computer knowledge, Outlook and Excel. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced work environment while exercising sound judgement. Candidates must reside within proximity to the listed location or be able to relocate.
