Summary
The Precision Technology Sales Specialist is responsible for driving sales of guidance equipment and precision farming accessories. This role focuses on identifying customer needs, promoting solutions, and closing sales to support precision agriculture growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Initiates contact with current and prospective customers to promote and sell precision farming products and solutions.
- Travels to customer locations to build relationships and conduct in-person sales meetings.
- Identifies customer needs and recommends appropriate guidance equipment and precision technology solutions.
- Prepares detailed sales quotes, estimates, and proposals.
- Negotiates pricing, terms, and services to close sales effectively.
- Coordinates and conducts product demonstrations at customer sites or dealership events.
- Represents the company and presents sales material at service clinics, field days, and trade shows.
- Provides post-sale support, including training on product operation and functionality.
- Performs PTS-related service calls as needed. Planting and Harvest Seasons are considered peak seasons.
- Maintains regular contact with customers to ensure satisfaction, resolve issues, and generate repeat business.
- Collaborates with service technicians to ensure timely support and issue resolution for customer equipment.
- Promotes dealership programs such as seasonal service specials and parts promotions.
- Accurately completes all required sales documentation, including orders, quotes, credit applications, and activity reports.
- Maintains up-to-date customer records and sales activity tracking.
- Participates in ongoing sales and product training sessions to stay current on industry developments.
- Communicates regularly with internal teams regarding customer needs, schedules, and follow-up.
- Provides mentorship and training for new sales team members.
- Supports dealership operations and special projects as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and/or Experience
Associate degree or 2-year Technical Degree in a related field; 1-3 years of related experience
Preferred Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's Degree or 4-year Technical Degree in a related field; 3-5 years of related experience
Supervisory Responsibility

Qualifications

- Experience working with brands such as Case IH AFS, Trimble, Ag Leader, or similar precision platforms.
- Background or familiarity with farming operations, ag equipment, or agronomy practices.
- Prior experience providing technical support or product demonstrations.

- Frequent travel is required throughout the assigned territory to meet with customers, conduct product demonstrations, and provide support.
- Work may involve exposure to outdoor weather conditions, uneven terrain, dust, noise, and agricultural or construction equipment.
- Occasional work is performed in shop or service areas, which may be loud and involve exposure to mechanical hazards.
- Regular use of computers, mobile devices, and precision technology tools is required.
- A fast-paced environment requiring strong time management, adaptability, and customer interaction.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle and travel frequently to customer locations (valid driver's license required).
- Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, and drive for extended periods of time.
- Occasional lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects up to 50 pounds (e.g., demonstration equipment, promotional materials).
- Ability to climb in and out of agricultural or construction equipment to demonstrate or inspect precision technology.
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate tablets, laptops, and other digital equipment used in product setup and demonstrations.
- Occasional exposure to outdoor environments including farm fields, shop areas, or trade show settings, in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to hear and communicate clearly with customers and coworkers, in person or over the phone.
- May require bending, stooping, kneeling, or crouching during equipment setup or customer support activities.
