Job Description: Principal Electrical Lead Cambridge Terahertz is hiring a full-time Principal Electrical Lead in the Greater Bay Area. This role requires on-site presence, 5 days per week at our Sunnyvale office. As one of the company’s senior members, you will work closely with the founding and leadership team to develop, test, and productize the company’s core product, a THz radar imaging system with integrated AI. An electrical engineer at heart with experience working cross-functionally to deliver rapid prototypes and ultimately shippable product, you will lead execution and delivery of the Company’s first product, a Terahertz phased array radar imager. You will work to integrate the company’s cutting-edge custom silicon and lab-scale prototype demonstration systems into shippable product units including complex interactions between electrical, mechanical, and software infrastructure, on aggressive timelines.You will be responsible for the architecture and design of Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) with digital, power, and Radio frequency (RF) electronics, test software development, and hands-on bringup and test activities, regulatory certification, up to small-scale manufacturing. In collaboration with product management, you will be responsible for translating customer needs into productized manufacturable systems, often with a mix of traditional engineering and open-ended technical challenges. You know how to be fast and efficient, delivering on aggressive schedules, often with creative solutions. Job Requirements (Must have) ●Bachelor, Masters or PhD in Electrical/Computer Engineering ●5 years of experience in design, test, and assembly of high-performance multilayer Printed Circuit Board (PCB) systems including circuit design, component selection, schematic capture, and layout of digital, analog, power, and RF electronics using tools such as Altium Designer, based on product-level specifications ●Experience working cross-functionally and leading teams to deliver shippable product ●Working knowledge of software such as MATLAB and Python ●Strong signals processing and systems background ●Strong communication and team collaboration skills ●Leadership skills, ability to work independently in a fast-paced startup environment Also desired (Nice to have) ●Experience working in deeptech hardware startups ●Experience designing, building and testing radar and/or lidar imaging systems or related sensors ●Experience with semiconductor packaging ●Experience with Hardware Description Languages (HDL), such as Verilog and implementation onto FPGA platforms ●Hands-on test experience with electrical lab equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, network analyzers and RF sources and ability to perform basic electrical debug and rework ●Experience with 3D-imaging systems and visualization tools ●Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and manufacturability ●Design capability for small-volume mechanical parts, such as 3d-printed and CNC-machined test fixtures, using tools such as Solidworks ●US Person (US Citizen or Green Card holder) Cambridge Terahertz offers generous and competitive compensation including health benefits, retirement benefits and equity in a fast-growing startup.
