Job Summary
We are seeking a visionary Global Chief Data Officer to transform data into a strategic enterprise asset across our central business units. Reporting to the CTO, you will own the end-to-end data agenda—encompassing strategy, architecture and infrastructure, analytics and insights, and data-driven innovation—while championing a data-centric culture. Governance, compliance, and data security remain essential, but are executed day-to-day by dedicated leaders who report into your organization and our Cybersecurity office.
Key Responsibilities
Data Strategy & Leadership
- Define and execute a forward-looking enterprise data strategy aligned with Acrisure's growth and digital transformation goals.
- Serve as the principal advocate for data-driven decision-making across all business functions and regions.
- Chair cross-functional councils that link data investments to product, client, and revenue outcomes.
- Design and modernize a cloud-native Lakehouse ecosystem (e.g., Databricks) with real-time pipelines, canonical data models, and self-service APIs.
- Evaluate and deploy best-in-class tooling for ingestion, orchestration, storage, and visualization in partnership with Infrastructure & Security teams.
- Ensure platforms are scalable, reliable, and cost-optimized.
- Lead enterprise AI/ML, advanced analytics, and BI programs—prioritizing high-value use cases and accelerating time-to-insight.
- Incubate new data products, APIs, and GenAI services that generate net-new revenue or operational efficiencies.
- Partner with Marketing, Finance, Operations, and Product to embed actionable insights into day-to-day workflows.
- Provide strategic direction and executive sponsorship for data governance, privacy, and security initiatives driven by dedicated governance and cybersecurity leaders.
- Align enterprise data policies with external regulations (GDPR, CCPA, SOX, NYDFS) through quarterly steering committee reviews.
- Build and mentor a high-performing global team of data engineers, architects, scientists, analysts, and governance specialists.
- Define clear career paths, training programs, and communities of practice to cultivate data talent.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration to ensure data initiatives are tightly integrated with business objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- MBA or Master's in Data/Computer Science, Engineering, or Business.
- 15+ years of executive-level data leadership in global, matrixed organizations.
- Proven success in presenting and influencing Boards of Directors.
- Expertise in delivering enterprise data strategies, cloud-native platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), and AI/ML programs.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards (GDPR, CCPA, SOX, NYDFS) and leading governance frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to drive culture change and data literacy initiatives enterprise-wide.
- Outstanding leadership, communication, and change-management skills.
- Certifications include CDMP (DAMA), DCAM, TOGAF, and Open CDS.
- Experience scaling GenAI responsibly and embedding AI ethics into governance.
- Additional credentials: CIPP/E, Certified Data Management Professional, or equivalent.
