Our Process Controls Engineer role provides the opportunity to build out your experience and expertise. You'll quickly gain exposure to wide-ranging challenges, technologies, and processes. Engineer 1 > Engineer 2 > Engineer 3 > Senior Engineer > Principal Engineer > Senior Leadership Key responsibilities: Process Control Engineer Understand engineering scope definition, Requests for Quotes (RFQ's), sourcing, technical evaluations, design, Final Acceptance testing(FAT), Site acceptance testing(SAT) and installations. Provide/manage support for plant network infrastructure. Develop the technical skills of others outside the electrical discipline. Evaluate existing systems, propose enhancements, and implement changes to improve productivity, efficiency, and safety. Cooperatively work with engineering teams to plan, develop, support, and implement capital and sustaining projects to improve safety, reduce costs, improve quality, reduce environmental impacts, and increase capacity. Diagnostics, troubleshooting, and maintain control systems to resolve issues, optimize performance, and prevent breakdowns. Conduct system checks, validate new installations, and ensure controls meet regulatory, safety, and quality standards. Manage Capital Projects. Assist maintenance team on corrective actions from predictive maintenance testing of electrical systems. Assist maintenance team in planned plant outages required for major electrical and control system upgrades. Provide emergency support for the plant's 24/7/365 operations if needed. About You
We're looking for engineers who strive for excellence and are eager for more responsibility. Bachelor of Science in a related technical discipline or 3 years of experience in Controls Engineering Program and implement PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and HMI (Human Machine Interface) programs. Specifically, Rockwell Controls Logix, Plant Pax, Factory Talk, & Studio 5000. Working knowledge of controls hardware and software, including automated control analog/digital valves, instrumentation, process servers, etc Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, maintenance, operations, IT, and third-party suppliers. Ability to work effectively with our network ISIT group to minimize impact of their actions on process equipment and to support resolution of network issues that require their support. Familiar with Motor controls, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), & Drive Parameters. Knowledge of process control system designs and installations including PLC and DCS applications. Working knowledge of OSI Pi and Pi AF would be very helpful. Ability to understand IT and control system networking fundamentals and interface between corporate IT group and local resources for managing IT standards and infrastructure. Experience with supporting and/or managing small to medium capital projects that require electrical and instrumentation construction (preferred). Working understanding of NFPA and NEC regulations. Effective consultant for electrical as well as non-electrical technical staff. Self-motivated, self-directed, and able to take ownership of electrical distribution and control systems without supervision. Positive, interactive engagement at all organizational levels. The annual pay range estimated for this position is $94,480.80 - $118,101.00 and is bonus eligible. Individual compensation will be determined based on several factors including your experience, skills, and alignment with the role's responsibilities.
