Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Process Designer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate may occasionally serve as a Project Lead, Drafting Checker, or Project Coordinator, depending on project needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and evaluate drafting performance and quality, providing constructive feedback for improvement.
Review and understand the assigned scope of work and become familiar with applicable drafting procedures and standards.
Review engineering design data for completeness and consistency with internal and client practices before beginning drawing preparation.
Independently conceptualize and draft Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) using CAD or intelligent P&ID applications such as AVEVA.
Prepare and maintain medium to high-complexity process drawings and related documentation using CAD or intelligent P&ID systems, based on layouts, sketches, or verbal instructions.
Ensure the accuracy of all assigned tasks, excluding design features assigned to the process engineer.
Maintain status reports on assigned projects.
Create and manage databases in intelligent P&ID software (e.g., AVEVA) for process engineering drawings such as PFDs and P&IDs.
Perform or support administrative functions such as legend creation, symbology development, platform setup, and data backup in CAD and/or intelligent P&ID environments.
Extract process data from intelligent P&ID systems for interdisciplinary use (e.g., line lists, valve lists, instrument lists).
Complete process design checklists when preparing drawings in CAD or intelligent P&ID platforms.
Communicate with regional offices, other engineering disciplines, and fabricators to support the development and delivery of process engineering drawings from initiation to installation.
Mentor junior designers in the use of AVEVA, CAD, and intelligent P&ID tools.
Travel as required to meet project or business needs.
Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in the process industry.
Previous experience with EPCs (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction firms), engineering consultancies, and preferably in production facility engineering.
Proficient in the AVEVA software suite.
Advanced proficiency in AVEVA, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Office. Experience with Adobe XD and After Effects is a plus.
Diploma in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering is .
Strong understanding and active participation in health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) programs.
Ability to complete tasks in compliance with both internal and client standards and quality requirements.
