A busy working mom in San Mateo is seeking a full-time family assistant/nanny to help her with her 3.5-year-old and, eventually, a 1-year-old starting in 2026 when the current nanny leaves. A truly flexible candidate is key! Mom travels frequently for work and schedule may change with two weeks notice. For now, Mom has full custody, but eventually, Dad will have every other weekend. The role would then be working every other weekend at the dad's home in SF. For now, the schedule would be Monday through Friday from 1pm-9pm. Eventually, the schedule would be alternating every other week to: Week A: Monday through Friday from 1pm-9pm. Week B: Monday through Wednesday 1-9pm, Saturday/Sunday (8hr days). The position would start in August. Forty hours per week guaranteed. Responsibilities
Daily childcare of toddler(s) Pick up from daycare Playtime and playdates Meal prep dinners for children Bedtime routine Driving to extracurricular activities On occasion, Mom has a family event at work, and you will need to take the train to SF. Back-up to the nanny who handles the seven-month-old currently Keeping the home tidy by helping remove trash/recycling Family laundry Errands - dry cleaning, grocery shopping, inventory, watering plants, coordinating with vendors, and handyman as needed Dynamic family with many schedule changes, constant people coming into and out Eventually, on dad's weekends: Taking children to museums and parks Birthday parties, social events/playdates Meal prep lunch for children Driving as needed Requirements
Legal to work in the US Prior experience with toddlers Clean and valid driver's license Fully vaccinated Open to traveling with mom, as needed Travel experience is a plus! Mandarin is a plus Salary and Benefits
The principal is offering $50/hr+, based on experience and the following benefits: SEP IRA after 1 year 10 days PTO with rollover (capped at 30 days) Medical stipend
