We have an immediate opportunity for an astute & proactive
Senior HR Advisor
reporting to the Sydney-based Manger People, Culture & Governance.
Act as 2IC to the Manager People Culture & Governance
This role is based in
Western Australia (Kewdale in Perth)
& will collaborate across the combined
BMSA/Otraco
workforce. However predominant focus is on
Otraco's
500+ headcount in
WA, NSW and QLD .
THE ROLE Proactive HR generalist advice & guidance to business leaders within Otraco Guidance, coaching & mentoring of HR team & business managers With PC&G, Talent, OD & L&D establish & support the implementation of standardised processes Provide appropriate and timely ER / IR support Facilitate Performance & Reward; Employment & Industrial Relations, & Organisation Effectiveness With HSEQ & PC&G Manager manage workers' compensation & injury management cases Point of escalation for HR team for payroll issues, union queries & dispute handling Support disciplinary investigations, complaint/dispute resolution & matters at Fair Work Commission With Manager PC&G develop robust HR Dashboard of key people metrics (headcount, turnover etc) Maintain currency & relevance of Policies, Procedures & Governance Framework Identify & facilitate business improvement initiatives
ABOUT YOU
This role will be working within a small team & be the hub of the business, we require someone with great interpersonal skills, clear communication & high organisational capabilities. The demands of the role are ever-changing so the need to be flexible is a must. Ideally, you will possess: 5-7 years experience in a similar senior influencing role with sound knowledge of business practices ideally with a mining background Practical experience supporting both salaried & award/ EA-based workforces Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or related discipline i.e. Humanities, Business/Commerce, Law or Psychology Excellent communication (written and oral) & presentation skills General understanding of Human Resources policies & procedures across the board Highly refined time management skills & ability to deal with conflicting priorities Autonomy, self-drive, integrity & confidentiality Experience representing an organisation at the Fair Work Commission (desirable) Experience supporting an HRIS system implementation (desirable)
