Duties And Responsibilities
Supervises, directs, and coordinates staff assigned to carry out daily work assignments including identifying goals and priorities, establishing and documenting procedures, setting performance standards, coordinating and monitoring activities, evaluating performance to ensure employees complete work in a timely manner; provides orientation and training to fully develop employees performance; approves and disapproves employee’s pay and leave requests, administers corrective and disciplinary actions, and all other personnel matters to ensure staff maintains a high level of customer services.
Manages the central agency supply program. Ensures distribution of inventory and supplies to support uninterrupted customer service at each DMV location. Establishes and enforces agency parking and transportation policies and guidelines; manages effective maintenance, allocation, and utilization of agency vehicles. Schedules transportation for DMV director, managers, and others as needed. Establishes and maintains sufficient central inventory of forms, license tags, brochures, and supplies to ensure adequate inventory at each DMV location and timely procurement of needed inventory. Manages the agency's mailing operation for processing incoming and outgoing mail for customers. Make decisions regarding mail and its processing in-house or contracting to a third party while establishing and managing appropriate contracts. Maximizes effective utilization of technology to support timely, accurate, and cost-effective management of mail.
Qualifications And Education
Specialized Experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable one (1) year of specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression.

WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT
The work is performed in a normal office setting. The work is primarily sedentary, however, there may be walking or standing.

Tour of Duty: Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Pay Plan, Series, and Grade: MS-301-13
Promotion Potential: No known promotion potential.
Collective Bargaining Unit (NON-UNION): This position is not in a collective bargaining unit.
Duration of Appointment: Management Supervisory Service “At-Will.” This is a Management Supervisory Service (MSS) appointment. Persons appointed to MSS positions do not acquire permanent status but serve at the pleasure of the appointing personnel authority and may be terminated at any time.
Position Designation: This position is designated as Security Sensitive and therefore the incumbent of this position will be subject to enhanced suitability screening pursuant to Chapter 4 of DC personnel regulations, Suitability. This position requires criminal background check, traffic record check (as applicable), and consumer credit check (as applicable).
