About the Role
The Company is seeking a Professor/Chair for its Mechanical Engineering Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for the leadership and administration of the academic department, including engaging faculty in strategic planning, budget development and management, and personnel management. This role involves overseeing the recruitment, hiring, and evaluation of faculty, as well as participation in the reappointment, promotion, and tenure process. The Professor/Chair will also be involved in accreditation, curricular and program development, and securing external funding to support faculty research, teaching, and service. Facilities management duties include coordinating and overseeing classroom and laboratory usage. Applicants must have a doctoral degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline, with a proven track record of teaching, research, and professional accomplishment. The position requires the qualifications for the appointment of the rank of Full Professor, as well as proven leadership abilities, a strong record of scholarly work, and extramural funding. Experience in curriculum development and successful grant management is preferred. The ideal candidate will be a leader who can bring teams together, support them in their efforts, and is committed to a culture that values diversity and inclusion. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are essential, and a Professional Engineering License is desired.
